More than a Market…

we’re a MOVEMENT!

Wow y’all! Our Fundraiser Art Booth at the Gala was a huge success! Thanks so much to all the artists and businesses who donated artwork and experiences to the silent auction and raffle. And a huge thanks to everyone who came out to participate and support! We’re still waiting to hear back about the final dollar amount raised - stay tuned on IG for the big news!

Inspired by both their global travels visiting Bazaars and their experience as a struggling artist, CAB founder Mike Talyad / Jungle Branch launched this project with the hopes of building stronger accessibility and empowerment for BIPOC artists + makers of all ages, creed, identity, sexuality, etc. in the art + market scene.

About the Caravan Art Bazaar

  • We seek to create and expand a pop-up market space that supports local BIPOC artists by encouraging communal support among vendors, changing the narrative of the “starving artist” and hyper independence within the art scene.

Inspired by the symbiotic relationships between all living things, we want to help artistic individuals cross pollenate with others and build stronger connections and relationships within the arts community.

  • Markets often require large commitment, can also be inaccessible to most due to high costs, and often become difficult for BIPOC vendors to take part. Markets can also be difficult or intimidating to younger artists, or artists looking to dip their toes in a market scene.

By encouraging shared booth space, and maintaining free or low-cost vendor fees, we hope to foster a space that gives easier, inclusive access to BIPOC artists of all ages.

By collaborating with venues and other BIPOC organizations throughout Western North Carolina, we hope to build and form a stronger community that helps us all support one another while spreading art & joy throughout a variety of audiences.

This traveling trope community of artists and guest artists plans to grow in time over a series of pop-up events, and plans to include youth booth/s to further help encourage and support younger and emerging artists.
